Prof. Dr. Gerd Graßhoff

Gerd Graßhoff – Professor for History and Philosophy of Science, formerly at Bern University, now Professor for History of Ancient Science at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Since 2010 Gerd Graßhoff has been director of the Excellence Cluster Topoi. His main research fields cover the history and philosophy of ancient science from Babylonian astronomy to Modern Times and theoretical philosophy, as well as methods of scientific discovery and philosophical models of causal reasoning. His current research is focused on babylonian astronomy, ancient sundials and digital humanities.
