Silvia Polla is a classical archeologist who has served as Junior Professor of the newly established field of computational archaeology at the Freie Universität Berlin since 2009. Her research focuses on scientific and computer-aided methods used in archeology, surveying techniques and high-resolution terrain analysis, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and quantitative methods applied in landscape archaeology, as well as the potential for integrating GIS-based and agent-based modeling.
