Marguerite Ronin is a classical historian, also trained in archaeology and philology. She first studied law and political sciences and received a master degree in Roman history and classics from the University of Nantes,France. While writing her doctoral thesis she worked as a lecturer for Roman history at the University of Nantes and as a Latin and Classics teacher in French secondary schools. In 2010 she obtained a research grant from the Université Laval in Québec. She completed her doctorate in 2014 from the University of Nantes and from the Université Laval. As a post-doc fellow at Topoi she carries out her research within the research group (B-1) Routes-Water-Knowledge and works about irrigation issues in the Roman countryside from a legal point of view.
