Daniel Neumann graduated from Universität München with a Magister Artium in prehistoric archaeology. After having  worked in the commercial sector of archaeology he started a doctoral fellowship at Topoi in 2008 as a member of research group (C-III) Acts: Sacred Spaces, Sacred Landscapes. His thesis elaborated bronze-age depositions in the alpine area of Central Europe.

His main areas of interest are settlement and landscape archaeology on a empirical as well as theoretical basis.
