Johannes Lipps is Junior Professor for Classical Archaeology. He studied classical archaeology, ancient history as well as papyrology, epigraphics and numismatics of Antiquity in Marburg, Rome and Colone. From 2009 to 2014 he was lecturer for classical archaeology at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Following this, he was appointed Junior Professor at the Institut für Klassische Archäologie, Eberhard-Karls-Universität Würzburg. His research focuses on ancient architecture and sculpture. During his fellowship at Topoi he works with research project (B-4-4) Shifting Things and Identities and the Key Topic Identities by investigating reception processes of ancient statue schemes in the northern provinces of the Roman Empire.
