Benjamin Earley is a scholar of classics and ancient history. He studied ancient history and classics in Durham and received a doctorate from the University of Bristol in 2013 with a thesis on “The influence of Thucydides on Eighteenth-Century Political Thought”. From 2011 to 2013 he was teaching assistant and senior resident in the Department of Classics.
His work at Topoi comprise the investigation of the paradigmatic perception of the Delian League as a “maritime empire” on hegemonial concepts in modern and early modern contexts.
