Barbora Weissova studied classical archaeology at the Charles University in Prague. She spent couple of years working in the Balkans, in particular in Bulgaria, in the frame of different archaeological projects. Her main interest is the utilization of GIS technologies in archaeological research but as classical archaeologist she is also interested in pottery studies. Since October 2013 she has been a doctoral fellow at the Excellence Cluster Topoi. Her thesis focuses on the spatial analysis of settlement patterns in Bithynia during the Hellenistic, Roman and early Byzantine period. She is a member of the (A-6-6) Iznik Intensive Survey Project exploring the economic landscape of the Hellenistic, Roman and late antique Bithynia.
Barbora Weissova was a doctoral fellow within the program “Landscape Archaeology and Architectur” (LAA) of the Berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies (BerGSAS).
