Christiane Zimmermann has been lecturer for New Testament and Greek at the Department of Theology of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin from 2006-2016. Since October 2016 she is professor for the history, theology and literature of the New Testament at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität in Kiel. Her research interests are in metaphors for God and early Christian history. She investigates in the expansion of early Christianity in the first Christian centuries on the basis of literary, epigraphic and archaeological sources. Having finished a comprehensive study on the rise of early Christianity and the authority of early Christian leaders in Lycaonia in ancient Asia Minor, she is currently working on Christian communities in Greece (Corinth, Athens) within research project (B-5-3) Authorization of Early Christian Knowledge Claims in Greece.
