Dr. Roland Wittwer
BBAW, Corpus Medicorum Graecorum / Latinorum
Roland Wittwer is head of research of the Corpus Medicorum Graecorum at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of sciences. His research interests cover all aspects of ancient medicine, ancient philosophy and textual criticism with a focus at present on Galen and Hellenistic philosophy. Within the context of Topoi he is the spokesman of the research group “Mapping Body and Soul” (D-III-E-II-2). He is currently working on a new edition of Galen’s Quod animi mores corporis temperamenta sequantur, one of the key texts for the Galenic theory of localisation of psychic faculties within the body. |
