Anna-Marija Totomanova has been Professor of Cyrillo Methodian Studies at the Sofia University, Bulgaria since 2009. From 1997 to 2000 she worked as Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Education, Bulgaria. Her research interests ranges from Palaeoslavonic Studies to the educational policies and practices in the new European context.
During her fellowship at Topoi (April 1- May 31, 2014) she participates in the seminar “Some Unacknowledged Offspring of Byzantium” with presentations about the recently discovered coherent excerpt of the Chronography of Jukius Africanus in a chronographic compilations translated into Old Church Slavonic in early 10th centuries. Furthermore she will present her results and achievements of a series of projects aiming at introducing ICT into medieval studies and complete the commented translation of Africanus excerpt into modern languages — Bulgarian and English.
