Moshe Taube is Professor in the Department of Linguistics and holds the Tamara and Saveli Grinberg Chair in Russian Studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. His areas of expertise are: Old Church Slavonic and Old Russian language and literature, translations from the Hebrew in ancient Russia and the Great Duchy of Lithuania, influence of Slavic languages on Yiddish syntax, the beginnings of modern Eastern Yiddish, and contemporary Yiddish in Jerusalem.
