Since November 2012, Katharina Steudtner has worked as a coordinator of research for the Topoi research group (C-3) Fragments, Ruins, and Space. She is also responsible for managing the Topoi Key Topic Transformation. As part of the project A Short History of Conservation of Archaeological Sites around the Mediterranean Sea, she is investigating the evolution of the treatment, conservation and presentation of excavation sites and the change of perception towards them over time.
Katharina Steudtner studied architecture at Technische Universität Berlin and has a M.A. in Building & Conservation. She also holds an interdisciplinary doctorate from the Brandenburgische Technische Universität Cottbus. Her expertise lies in building research as well as in theoretical and practical aspects of conservation and restoration.
