Julia Snyder studied Classics and Mathematics at the Williams College in Williamstown, USA, and at the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, USA. In 2013 she completed her PhD at the University of Edinburgh with the thesis “Language and Identity in Ancient Narratives: The Relationship between Speech Patterns and Social Context in the Acts of the Apostles, Acts of John, and Acts of Philip”.

During her fellowship (September 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014) she undertakes sociolinguistic analyses on research material of research group (B-5) Personal authorisation of knowledge.
