Aušra Selskienė studied chemistry at the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences, Lithuania and obtained her PhD in 1997. Since then she has worked as research assistant at the Center for Physical Sciences and Technology Vilnius, Lithuania. Her research focuses on pre- and protohistoric iron extraction and production in the Baltic region as well as scientific analysis of chemical and mineralogical composition and microstructur of ores, smelting slags adhering to furnace, raw iron and iron products using different analytical methods.
Within the scope of her Topoi fellowships (June to July 2014, November to December 2016) Aušra Selskienė is concerned in the activities of research group (A-5) Iron as a Raw Material and research project (A-5-5) Iron Smelting in the Baltic Region.
