Manfred G. Schmidt is director of the Research Center “Corpus Inscriptionum Latinarum” at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW) and vice-president of the Association Internationale d’Épigraphie Grecque et Latine (AIEGL). Within Research Area B ‘Historical Spaces’ Manfred G. Schmidt works on the definition and determination of spaces by means of their surveying and limitation. His research focuses on the Miliaria provinciarum Hispanarum (CIL XVII/1).
