Christoph Rummel is a Classical archaeologist specialising in the Roman period. His main research interests are the history and development of the Vesuvian cities, late Roman South East Europe and the frontier zone of the Roman Empire. Within Topoi, he investigates the early urban history of Pompeii and development of bathing culture as part of the research project (C-6-8) Bathing Culture and the Development of Urban Space.
