Dirk Rohmann studied ancient history and Latin literature in Bochum and Tübingen and holds the Ph.D. from the University of Munich. From 2005-09 he has held a Feodor Lynen Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, first at the University of Colorado at Boulder and more recently at the University of Bonn (2008-09). He then has held a RCUK research post and is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Manchester. He has published widely on ancient history and is currently interested in the transformation of knowledge in the Roman Empire and Late Antiquity. Within Topoi, he investigates the history of the scale.
