Ernst Osterkamp is professor of German Literature at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. He is member of the Collaborative Research Centre 644 ”Transformations of Antiquity“, of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW), and, since 2008, spokesperson of the review board Literary Studies of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. Within Topoi, a focus of Ernst Osterkamp’s interest is on the perception and literary composition of ancient spaces constituted in German and English travelogues about Italy and Greece and on how spaces of Antiquity are formed by means of narrative structures in early modern novels. |
