Jörg Orschiedt is researcher at the Institut of Pre- and Early History at the Universität Köln. He heads a research project to investigate the “Blätterhöhle” cave site in Westphalia, with a focus on the Mesolithic and Neolithic and on examining human skeletal remains. In addition, he plays an active role in a DFG research project to investigate the Bronze-Age battlefield in the Tollensetal Valley (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania), and leads the research into human skeletal remains.
Jörg Orschied has studied archeology and anthropology. His research interests include interaction between hunter-gathers and sedentary populations, prehistoric armed conflicts and Stone-Age funerary practices.
