Dr. Mona Khechen

Mona Khechen was invited as an urban planner to participate in the research project Archaeotopia. She is working on the contemporary town of Carthage in Tunisia, investigating how this essentially archeological urban site is appropriated and manipulated by different interest groups. Among other issues, the research addresses questions related to the consumption of cultural heritage and the (re) invention of history and identity in ways that serve broader politico-economic objectives and ambitions.
