Maya Kashuba is a scholar from St.Petersburg investigating the Hallstatt Period, Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age. For a long time she has investigated the adoption of iron as a new raw material within the northern area of the Black Sea. She states that there have been two different manifestations of the Iron Age in the North Black Sea region. The non-simultaneous appearance of the early Iron Age in this region goes back to different origins of cultural tradition. As a Senior Fellow of the research group (A-5) Iron as a Raw Material,  Maya Kashuba intends to investigate this asynchronous development of the cultural historic processes from a global perspective.
