Sven Greinke

Institut für Klassische Philologie (HU)

Sven Greinke is writing a dissertation, which deals with the praise of the emperor in panegyric writings in late antiquity. He is in the process involved in the research group C-IV, whose research interest is mainly the urban areas of Rome, Milan or Antioch from different disciplinary perspectives. He is trying to add this line of vision through his question about an aspect of the “province” of the empire, which is presented to him by the origin of the authors of the XII Panegyrici Latini. His interest is in addition to the praise of the Emperor in the form of “Representation of space” (for example social interactions, interpretations of nature, movements in space), hence the self-positioning of the authors by the evident in the panegyric writings literary concepts.
