Gordon Fischer studied physics at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. After finishing his doctoral thesis about “Determination of the tau-lepton reconstruction and identification efficiency using Z -> tautau events in first data at ATLAS” at Universität Hamburg/DESY in 2011, he was research assistant at DESY Zeuthen with the area of specialisation in Astro-Particle Physics. During a research stay at CERN in Geneva he was involved in the discovery of the Higgs boson.
In October 2012 Gordon Fischer joined the Excellence Cluster Topoi. Within research group (D-1) Space of Nature he investigates ancient cultures by means of mathematical methods.
