Chen Fei is a graduated assyriologist from Peking University. Before his studies of foreign languages, he attended the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Business School of Shandong University. In 2014 he received his Ph D within a joint programme by the Freie Universität Berlin and Peking University.
So far, his scientific work comprised the participation of the translation of the Cambridge Ancient History and The New Cambridge Medieval History from English into Chinese. From 2006 to 2007 he was editor of the New Knowledge Culture Corporation of Shandong.
His research concentrates on the history and culture of ancient Mesopotamia, Cuneiform languages and sources of Cuneiform literature. Besides that he investigates the political history of Assyria and Babylonia from 15th to 7th Century BC. During his research stay at Topoi, Chen Fei studies the sources of the Assyrian king list from Ashur.
