Norbert Blößner is a specialist in early and classical philosophy, particularly Plato’s dialogues. He studied at the University of Regensburg, were he received his PhD for his work „Die singulären Iterata der Ilias. Bücher 16–20“ in 1990. Within the „Platonprojekt“ of the Mainzer Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Literatur he habilitated, too, in 1996 in Regensburg with his work „Platon, ‘Politeia’ 543a1–555b2: Übersetzung, Kommentar, Appendizes“. He received the habilitation prize of the Universität Regensburg for it the following year. Currently he is working on Plato’s “Politeia” and participating in the Topoi Research Group “Imagination of Space” (C-I-3).
