Dr. Joseph Bjelde

Joseph Bjelde studied philosophy and classics at Berkeley, and is currently Assistant Professor at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, as part of the Research Training Group “Philosophy, Science, and the Sciences.” His research focuses on epistemology, ethics, and intersections of the two subfields – especially on questions about the value of epistemic states. As part of the Topoi research project (D-3-3) Spatial Entities in Plato, he looks at connections between the value of epistemic states, according to Plato, and their contents – in particular, how and why spatial objects feature in their contents.
