Hinrich Biesterfeld is a Professor at the Department of Oriental and Islamic Studies of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. He is a leading expert on the Arabic textual tradition of Galen’s Quod animi mores, a text which unites in an exemplary manner ancient medical and philosophical perspectives on the problem of the localisation of the soul’s faculties. As a Senior Fellow, his expertise enriches the work of Group D-III-E-II-2 “Mapping Body and Soul”. |
