Lutz Bergemann is Lecturer for History and Ethics of Medicine at Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. He studied philosophy, classics and middle and neo-Latin philology in Kiel. In 2010 he obtained a habilitation in philosophy from Westfälische-Wilhelms-Universität Münster. In 2005 he began a collaboration with Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin within the Sonderforschungsbereich 644 “Transformationen der Antike” by researching neo-platonic – naturalistic configurations in 17th century England. His main fields of interests are neoplatonic philosophy, ancient/late ancient, medieval and early modern philosophy, ethics of medicine, clinical ethics as well as the Latin and Greek literature of antiquity, late antiquity and the middle ages.
