Heidemarie Eilbracht studied Prehistory, Classical Archaeology, and History. She held several positions in archaeological heritage management and in academic research until 2011. Since 2012, she has been working in an international project on settlement archaeology in the Baltic region at the Museum for Pre- and Eraly History (Museum für Vor- und Frühgeschichte) in Berlin. She is also teaching at the Institute for Prehistoric Archaeology at the Freie Universität Berlin. Her main research focus is on research history as well as on prehistoric metalwork technologies, in Particular Early Medieval jewellery production.
