At the end of January the first part of the school project "Zukunftsportal: ANTIKE" has taken place and has been reviewed by the press. During three days pupils have been introduced to several research fields of Topoi. They are now planning their own congress with six lectures on those fields. See press review (in German)

At the end of January Topoi and the Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften start their project "Zukunftsportal: ANTIKE". About 100 pupils of secondary schools in Berlin are invited to work on academic subjects in the field of antiquity for three days. As follow up to these three days the pupils will plan their own congress at the beginning of March. See also the following press release in German (as pdf):

“Rome and Milan in Late Antiquity”, the new volume of Topoi’s publication series "Berlin Studies of the Ancient World", has now been published. The volume is also available as an open access e-book and is part of a pilot project for publications launched with the academic publisher, De Gruyter.

The website of tonargumente presents since 2009 records of diverse talks on the topic of space. There can be culture theoretical talks, as those on archaeology or philosophy. See the website under: tonargumente.org.

At the 7. German Archaeology Congress a new central organisation of archaeologists („Deutscher Verband für Archäologie“ (DVA)) was founded.

The Berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies (BerGSAS) of the Berliner Antike-Kolleg, a graduate school founded by the Freie Universität Berlin and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, has announced 10 doctoral scholarships.

An der Langen Nacht der Wissenschaften beteiligte sich Topoi auch dieses Jahr wieder mit Vortragsreihen und Aktionen: Im Topoi-Haus Dahlem präsentierten sich das Cluster, befreundete Institute der FU und das Deutsche Archäologische Institut.

Zur Eröffnung des Berliner Antike-Kollegs informierten Vertreter des Exzellenzclusters Topoi, der Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz und der Berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies über Aufbau und Ziele des neuen Verbundes für Altertumsforschung.
